Jim Watson

News is coming in that the adventure artist Jim Watson has sadly passed away.

With a distinctively tough and gritty style, Jim Watson was ideally suited to the boys' comics of the 1960s through to the 1980s, where he contributed to titles such as TV21 and Battle Picture Weekly. He was also an artist on IPC's short-lived True War comic, as well as Scream! and 2000AD, and on D.C. Thomson's Commando and Warlord. He also contributed to TV21 annuals and the sticker fun books of the 1960s (see here).

John Freeman has today written a memoriam to the artist for the Down the Tubes blog, which you can read here:

My condolences to Mr.Watson's family and friends for their loss.
